March 9, 2024 - Talk about on top of their game, even in the difficult 2021 vintage, Canon managed to produce one of the wines of the vintage! The perfume pops with little effort as you already find its bouquet of violets, spearmint, cigar wrappers, black cherries, plums, licorice and cocoa. And the palate is even better with its edgy freshness, sweet, red berries, plums and red plums, fresh cherries, herbs, and a touch of fennel along with salty accents in the elegant mid-palate and finish. The wine blends 71% Merlot with 29% Cabernet Franc. Drink from 2026-2055.

February 22, 2024 - JA, Maintains estate signature, with raspberry, red cherry, charred sandalwood and clove, with saffran, sage and white pepper adding extra layers and nuance. Successful in the vintage, one to look out for. Don't expect it to have entirely escaped the fingerprint of 2021 though, this is delicate and finessed but austere, and will need a good four or five years in bottle to soften further. 50% new oak, 40hl/h yield, harvest September 16 to October 8. January 26, 2024 - The nose pops; griotte cherry, kirsch, limestone, engaging. A little green herb, yet the fruit otherwise seems ripe. Lots of material here; I'm impressed by the length in the mouth and there's good zip.

January 25, 2024 - UGCB SF Tasting Event (Metreon, San Francisco): WOTN? Even after a shot palate, this is clearly a step above most. Seductive red fruit and texture, very round and supple, Floral and black fruit inner mouth aromatics. Excellent balance and shows refinement and class. Velvety tannins that really sneak up on the back. Sneaky mineral structure. 94++
