October 4, 2022 - Very enjoyable! Don’t think it will get any better though.

August 7, 2022 - Full body, rich mouthfeel, and lots of baked cherry, baked strawberry pie with sweet cinnamon running thru it. Frankly, though rich and balanced, I hoped for more of the darker, purple-blue flavors and some gaminess that Mourvèdre provides and I often get in their regular Esprit-Reds at this age. Still very good but drink now before any fruit flavor turns plumey.

July 24, 2022 - Very fragrant upon opening, aeration not needed as the nose flavors immediately jump out. Lots of dark cherry fruit, spice, very light mint and mineral with earthiness. Long pleasant and smooth finish that just pumps out strawberry and baked cherry spice. Ready to drink today.

January 21, 2022 - Rich and extracted with a mouthfilling "juicy" quality that comes from the great balance. Deep smokey red fruits with tons of earthy complexity. Drinking window is now for 750ml bottles and 2 more years or so.

January 11, 2021 - Final of 2 bottles, last tasted 4 yrs ago. Seemed a little syrupy and simple, but to be fair, I have a cold and can't taste very well.

December 27, 2020 - I have never given a 99 score to any wine, and the only reason why this is not 100 is I have never tasted a "100". One of the most memorable wines I have ever had. Just remarkably balanced and so flavorful, with chocolate dominating. Remarkable. I have had great TCV wines in the past, but this one is off the charts good. Too bad I have no more left.

March 29, 2020 - Nice wine. I had a 2007 Panoplie this weekend also and the two years are noticeably different. The 2006 fruit was brighter and pleasant. The wine was enjoyable after only 20 min, so no long opening needed. Only had one bottle. Plenty of time left on this wine and no rush to enjoy.

December 15, 2018 - A fantastic bottle over a couple of hours. Decanted for an hour or so prior to drinking. This bottle, purchased at auction, was clearly kept in excellent conditions as it shows maturity, but indicates years of development ahead - I'd say up to a decade, but that could be aggressive.

This has the combination of deep, dark, rich, ripe fruit that is somehow never heavy that we find in the best CdPs. Roasted meat, aged meat, forest floor, mint, spices, plums and balsamic in the best possible way. Soy sauce notes, in a great way, as that descriptor would normally turn me off. The tongue was never coated and the palate never tired over hours of drinking through dinner and finishing after.

I remember the 2006 Mourvedre was fantastic and I wish I'd have bought a case of that 10 years ago at a great price. This is a reminder of that. I'm not sure Tablas Creek's past several vintages are built the same way - with the richness and gamy elements, instead being a bit more Burgundian it has seemed. Not sure. Time will tell...

November 23, 2018 - Delicious, dark fruit in a powerful Mourvèdre blend. Earthy, meaty and still with many good years ahead. Browning at the edges, but not on the palate for me. Nice!

February 1, 2017 - Deep dark fruit, heavy, almost a chewy texture. Dark crimson color, spice, earthy elements. Interesting wine and enjoyable
