March 17, 2024 - Same bottle as Melvin. Served next to 99 D.Laurent Bonnes Mares by chance. But whereas most guesses for the Laurent BM were mid to late 2000s, this was in the 80s. Very evolved, bad storage conditions not undrinkable.

March 15, 2024 - Mainly Vosne and Chambolle GCs: My contribution. Cloudy in colour with obvious mushroom, sous bois notes and some wild berries. Definitely advanced when compared against the vibrant RSV from the same maker and vintage.

November 17, 2020 - Beautiful wine; accompanied grilled rib-eye. Drinking well now but no hurry to drink. Great example of Bonnes Mares.

August 4, 2020 - Slow oxed for 5 hours before serving. Herbs, Asian spice, wild berries, cherry, vitamins, animal and earth. Palate was powerful and deep with plenty of stuffing and a lovely mineral-drive undertone and savoury-like sweetness. Girardin totally nailed the 99 vintage for its reds.

February 13, 2020 - 3 hr decant and while showing a bit of VA at the beginning this wine evolved over the course of the meal to show very broad deeper, darker fruit; great balance. Very fine tannin sediment which was not tart/sharp at all, lending itself to a very fine finish at the end. Perhaps not known for reds, this time it was stellar.
