February 3, 2024 - What's not to like? Fresh, but with enough complexity to make it interesting. Let it breathe a bit.
December 25, 2023 - Light straw color, crisp and acidic with a bit of grapefruit and blackberry flavors. Nice enjoyed solo, but didn’t pair well with the Brie-cranberry chicken. Would be better served with a more savory poultry or fish.
October 18, 2023 - Place straw color. Not too fragrant: cut grass, lemon peel, and citrus. Medium bodied with well balanced acidity and fruit. Short and clean finish. Paired well with grilled cheese and fish.
July 24, 2023 - These hippies have had 360 jahren to realize this gently leesy assemblage would be a far superior aperitif if made with the méthode Anglaise, and that sylvaner is not a noble grape. If Northern Algeria can rip out hectares of Carignan, the Nazi countries can do the same with the red delicious of vinifera
Update: it appears the Nazi countries are way ahead of me, and have been quite vicious about ripping out sylvaner in recent times. I apologise for my ignorance
Pinot blanc sucks too
June 5, 2023 - Light to medium body, pale straw colour. Fruits forward aroma of apples, loquat and lemongrass. Vibrant palate and dry finish. Slightly high alcohol but overall crisp, refreshing and balanced wine. Food friendly, Well pairing to Mediterranean salad and brie cheese. Serve 10ºC - 12ºC. Open a few minutes ahead. Drink now.
May 3, 2023 - Buy a lot more!
March 3, 2023 - Well balanced, refreshing white from Alsace. Always good to drink.
December 8, 2022 - Typical Alsatian blend with the tropical notes of the Gewurz coming out. Pallet isn’t as vibrant, which balances the loud bouquet.
October 16, 2022 - Thai lunch (Ben and Estella's place, Parramatta): Pretty, musky, grapey, a little lychee, generic citrus, floral elements. Nice nose. Juicy, equally nice on the palate, fleshy, fresh, beautifully balanced but doesn't really work with these dishes for me.
October 4, 2022 - Great blend from Alsace
