February 13, 2024 - Même note qu’il y a une année, peu de changement même s’il a encore gagné en structure tannique au détriment du fruit.
    Très minéral.
    91-92 pour le présent

February 9, 2024 - Nose with Burgundian forest scents, not that we we'd be in Burgundy. The youthful, medium palate is well structured and effortlessly dense, filled with thyme and herbs, dry red cherries, chalkiness, forest berries and ash. There is also ripeness typical of this vintage, reminiscent of the vintage 2015. Luckily this is not oaky the way the recently tasted vintage 2021 was. Good long spicy finish.

This eponymous vintage of Terre Nere's Caldera Sottana cru is ready to go now but will continue to develop, recommended to experience at this stage of the evolvement curve, though. I ended up sourcing more while these are still around.

    February 4, 2024 - Drank this over 4-5 hours.

This took a long time to open up. Initially quite closed with some dark red cherry, smoke and herbal notes (think thyme, fennel frawns) eventually got glimpses of earthiness I cannot stress how long this took to give me something I could pick up on the nose.

First impressions were that it was somewhat disjointed but not unpleasant with typical etnean ash finish but man oh man time helped this out a lot.

The wine came together and what was left was a beautifully pure, fresh and complex wine. Good structure, quite precise, fresh and pure. The finish was smooth and subtle. This did not show 14.5%abv. The freshness took me aback. Joy to drink.

94 points could hit 96 with a few more years on it

December 17, 2023 - Comprehensive Tenuta delle Terre Nere (Chicago, IL): Delicate, readily approachable now, with red fruit and a clean, crystalline profile that I find really compelling. One of the most elegant expressions today.
