June 25, 2023 - Slightly cloudy, dark Ruby and not fully opaque. After opening slightly green (tomato?) and pretty rustic. Raspberry and cherry aroma but mixed with some barnyard and graphite notes. About what I expected from this producer. Over the course of two hours in the bottle this dramatically improved. Fruity notes stepped back and turned into a pure aroma of rose hip and golden apple, no more barnyard or rustic aroma, instead more of that graphite and maybe a hint of tobacco or fresh leather. Spot on Balance between acidity and tannins to provide structure and a tremendous length. Big burgundy show, a wine to quietly enjoy.
