January 1, 2022 - Decanted for a bit before drinking, and served with grilled rack of lamb (unusually, it was 55 degrees in late December in boston). Slight touch of menthol that evaporated quickly, and dry yet soooo smooth; not a touch of heaviness or clumsiness, all grace. We don’t always have the willpower to wait 25+ years to drink a wine, but this was definitely worth waiting for!

December 22, 2021 - Modest and civilized bouquet with dark berries and oak. On the palate lush dark berries, a lovely touch of sweetness, chocolate , beautiful oak, lovely acidity and still pleasant, slightly sticky tannin. Still young maturity stage. Beautiful and exclusive wine with still a future of at least 3+ years.

September 23, 2021 - Birth year Pontet-Canet on my birthday. Impeccably fresh - cigar box, pencil, deep blackberries on the nose and mineral, dark fruit, and harmonious tannins on the palate. The color is deep ruby, no bricking whatsoever. I could have been convinced that this was bottled in 2015 based on the color and freshness. Perfectly integrated and ready to go. Cork in perfect condition. Pontet-Canet does it again. If you’ve got this, drink it - you’re in for a treat! Salut!

September 19, 2021 - I bought this on futures; held in active cellar since then. Mature flavors and aromas but lots of structure. Still fresh. Could last a long while longer. Might be my last (but hopefully not). Classic Pauillac.
