August 20, 2022 - Great wine! Rich, delicious, round, deep, black cherry fruit with cassis flavors, excellent structure, long finish, drank from magnum, best from flight of 1985 Spottswoode, 1981 BV George de Latour, 1985 Dunn Howell Mtn, 1981 Caymus Special Select, 1985 Forman

October 21, 2021 - deepish bricked red, aged cassis on the nose with mild spice notes, on the palate a sweet aged cassis with plums, soft and sweet on the entry and just starting to crack up on the midpalate, light and dryish finish, with time cherry notes and a bit of leather, attractive but passing prime and best solo with a meal at this point.

    **+, drink up.

August 2, 2021 - Light, Delicate, still full of life. Very mellow, but in a nice spot with a touch of acidity and bing cherry that almost tastes burgundian. This bottle couldn't have been in better shape and more fulfilling. Probably the best diamond creek I've had.

August 2, 2020 - Showed better than the bottle of a year and a half ago. Fully mature, and after 2 hours open, shows a slight fade of intensity. Good, with a few select moments of very good. Decanted for sediment, allowed to aerate 60 minutes, and served at cellar temp. Drink now. recommended

January 15, 2019 - This didn't do too much for me, seemed almost assembled. Not bad, but anodyne and seemingly synthetic in this line up.

April 1, 2018 - Happy Easter, Happy Spring, Vintage Wine (Easter Brunch at Flemings, Walnut Creek, Ca.): Opened for Alex and finished the bottle two days later during Easter Brunch at Flemings, black cherry, black berry, rainy forest floor, and a hint of baker's chocolate, same on the palate, big body, mouth filling fruit, overshadowed the Chateau Pichon Baron both in power and complexity, almost elegant, delicious at thirty-three years of age and easily last another fifteen years if well cellared, and a long, long, flavorful finish. September 22, 2017 - Wine was properly stored from purchase at winery upon release until consumed.
Immediate big beautiful bouquet reminiscent of the Petrus origins of the vines. Layers of fruit, Strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, boysenberries, cassis, and more. They layers lasted for the full hour plus over which we drank the wine. This is a phenomenal bottle of wine that provides everything we love in wine. As we drank the wine, some spices and some earth scents intermixed with the fruit. A touch of cigar box. And more fruit. Mouthwatering, lovely. Thank you Boots and Al.
