May 6, 2014 - Really drinking very well right now. Lovely deep ruby color with a bit of age showing. Dark fruits and forest floor on the nose, medium body and a long finish. Drank it over 4 days with a vacuvin, was shining on the last day.
March 19, 2014 - Either I held this too long, or I don't like the style, or both.
Plummy, cola, lacking acidity, residual char. OK with roasted hazelnuts for dessert, but that's about it for usefulness.
January 19, 2013 - Last bootle. Glad we drank it as another year would find this over the hill. Quite good now, but drink up.
October 5, 2012 - Still doing well
August 26, 2012 - 14.6% alcohol. Black cherry color. Nose shows a bit of heat now, along with blackberry and black cherry fruit. In the mouth, adds a bit of baking spice, but this is more juicy and a quaffer, with a touch of heat on the back end. B+
December 16, 2011 - 60-90 minute decant. Consumed over 1 hour. No formal notes, but a lot of candied cherry, spice, and cola with a hint of a green/spice-like note on the finish. Good length and balance. Delicious, especially if you like 'em sweet.
October 30, 2011 - Not terribly memorable, but a good food wine. More cola on this one than I remember.
September 15, 2011 - Popped and poured cold out of cellar. Last bottle and it has matured nicely. Not overly complex but a nice wine to sip.
May 1, 2011 - Big, slightly earthy, cherry-cola nose. Big, rich, very sweet flavors of cherry, orange & spice. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel with soft edges and vibrant acidity. Great depth and intensity of flavors. Long, fruity & slightly acidic finish. Nothing subtle about this, it is just about "off the scale" in terms of ripeness and sweetness, but somehow it works.
