  November 16, 2009 - I was surprised to see so much sediment in the bottle for one this age. I would have pegged it for a much older wine. In the glass it possessed a deep garnet color with noticeable vanilla and oak on the nose. Good weight on the palate - but the taste was a little "vegetal" - which is not what I was expecting based on the aromas from the nose. Paired it with a dark bittersweet chocolate (72% cacao) that should normally get along well with a Zinfandel - but these two did not enhance one another at all. Maybe barbeque would have been better. Overall - this was a little disappointing - especially at $20.

  February 11, 2008 - Very dark garnet. Aroma of black olive and black pepper with hints of tar. Taste of cherries with pretty tight tannins. Surprisingly un-fruity for a Zin with a fairly bright finish.

  November 14, 2007 - Drinkable bottle, but a little hot. Fruit hung around for the first 30 minutes with the heat, but the fruit faded fairly quickly and the resulting wine wasn't all that exciting.
