February 9, 2022 - Deep garnet. This wine has aged well and is drinking beautifully now. Purchased direct from the winery with perfect provenance. Tannins are there but milder with age. Strawberry jam opens up to tannins then hits a bit of acidity and slow finish.

May 12, 2013 - This may be one of the first, and the oldest Sojourns I have. I've always liked the Home Ranch, and even as an early release, and now an old bottle, this was a great wine. Wish I still had a few of these around.

June 22, 2012 - Much better than the last bottle. The fruit is back. Good depth of blue and black fruit.

April 13, 2011 - I've gone back and forth on this wine over the last two years. Perhaps it's bottle variation or perhaps the wine is going through phases. Tonight, this bottle is very good. More blueberries and black fruit then the previous bottle with a little earth and chocolate. Nose is still muted.

November 26, 2010 - Same note. Poured for 6 people. Similar notes with a majority not attracted to the nose.

November 26, 2010 - Popped but not poured for 60 minutes. Dark blackish opaque red in color with aromas of artichoke and green pepper. Flavors of a slight mid palate dark chocolate and dark red fruit. Slight metalic taste.

June 5, 2010 - This wine has changed quite a bit in the last year. Gone are the blueberries and there is prominent green pepper taste. On day 1 the wine seemed a little harsh in terms of tannins. On day 2 wine is softer. Day 2 score is recorded-day 1 would have been an 87-so perhaps a long decant is in order. Will wait and see what another year does.

May 29, 2010 - Medium-dark ruby red. The nose has blackberry, cassis, tobacco, and spice. Nicely integrated, very smooth and plush now. Still has plenty of structure. Nice long finish. Drinking nicely now, but should last a few more years.

February 9, 2010 - Green peppers dominate this wine. Good bottle but not very complex.

December 18, 2009 - Notes from memory. I remember quite enjoying this bottle. Not heavily extracted or hot at all. A well-rounded cab with nice Sonoma fruit and a decent finish. Will buy again if I can find it.
