October 30, 2019 - Such a beautiful wine. Resolved tannins, with plenty of secondary character - cedar and tobacco and some forest floor though it still retained some plummy fruit. The persistence of the finish and the opaqueness of the wine led me to believe that it could go on for some years yet. Loved it (though I loved the 05 Barthod village more).

October 29, 2019 - Asparagus gang dinner at Imperial Treasure Ion. Drank over 2+ hours in bottle. Drank in Gabriel Standart.
Appearance is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of fragrant green bell peppers, capsicums, blackberries, blackcurrant, cassis, some cedar. Developed.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, soft plush integrated high tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of dark red cherries, black cherries, blackcurrant, cassis, cedar, sweet green bell pepeprs. Long finish.
Very good quality. Tastes much fresher than expected for a 1985! Drink up and enjoy now!

April 30, 2017 - Nowhere near as amazing as the previous one (en magnum), but this was still very good. Tannins fully resolved, fully mature, but it still took an hour in the decanter to open. Might be just past its peak.

March 12, 2016 - One-piece nose, blended together. Peppermint, canned green peas, capsicum, some animal notes. Good, smooth tannins. Intense and rather fresh. Would drink again.

September 26, 2014 - From Magnum. Fruit had receded, tannins were almost fully integrated and secondary/tertiary characteristics had come to the fore. Colour was still a deep red and the nose was intoxicating - cedar, forest floor, mild herbs. Sublime. My WOTY thus far. 94+
