September 17, 2023 - Needed a few hours to come around. Pretty non de-script at first. After an hour in the decanter it started to peak out. 2nd hour came around. Very energetic yet not necessarily as complex as I'd like. Pretty punchy with nice acidity. Floral, very old school burg!!

Thinking will sit on my remaining bottles a while but this is in a decent drinking window if you give it plenty of air.

February 22, 2016 - I can't rate this. Bought on E-Bay and may be a counterfeit. The wine inside the bottle was more like Beaujolais instead of Burgundy. What a shame!

October 3, 2011 - Chambertin Clos de Beze Dinner (Boka - Chicago IL): Tasted single blind. This was one of my favorite wines from the 2004 vintage when tasted in Burgundy while there for 2006's Grands Jours de Bourgogne. Not so much tonight. Big black fruit with some good Beze spice consistent with the other wines from dinner. The 2004 telltale green streak was quite prominent, and seemed particularly unusual and "uncharming" with the wine seemingly over-concentrated. Opened 2 hours before serving.

September 29, 2008 - sweet dark berries and mild tobacco/earth. expecting more, but this is a very nice burg with many interesting facets.

March 31, 2007 - Served at The Wine Club in SF at a wine tasting: quick notes: dark spice with sweet earth; high acidity; peppery from the alcohol; dry, tight finish. Good.

March 22, 2006 - Trip to Burgundy; 3/20/2006-3/24/2006 (Burgundy): Tasting, brief note. Black fruit with good spice, new oak nicely integrated. Moderate depth, but enough of every good element here. Probably also best for medium-term with its moderate concentration, 2010- 2016 or 2018?
