July 18, 2023 - Blackberries, Black currants, light touch of green stem (pleasant though)

Young but great structured wine where the tannins and acidity are present but not too tough. This is a fruit driven wine, but not in an over extracted way.

Perfect wine for More elegant barbecue or more!

March 18, 2023 - Tasted far too early to see what the prospects are for this wine. Decanted for 5 hours to give it a chance.
It's a stunning wine given its age. All the pieces are there and then some! It just needs (quite a bit of) time to be wonderful.

August 8, 2022 - Opened with a mollydooker shake one day 1 seemed out of sorts so i left it for it for 24 hours , wow what a difference

Fruit from McLaren Vale, Barossa Valley, Coonawarra, Padthaway, Wrattonbully. 15 months in French (24% new) and American (12% new) oak hogsheads.
Colour bright purple impenetrable depth , blood red on the rim 15/15
Nose super intense blueberry blackcurrant violet spice, classic cabernet great purity of aromas 28/30
palate full bodied intense and rich fruit, blueberry blackberry and cassis flavours. aggressive tannins still there from day 1 , silky mouthfeel and long finish 42/44
overall very rich , needs more time to settle but it is a Penfolds so built to go the distance, much happier now after been opened for 24 hours 9/11

tasting again on the 10th so 3 days after opening, everything in balance now , rich fragrant nose and lovely mouthfeel and long finish , aggressive tannins have been tamed 95-96 points
