March 13, 2024 - Amazing to leave a note 10 years after the last one. I have had good experiences with some Elyse SVDs from this era, so I gave this a shot off of WineBid. Glad I did - the nose and flavor remind me of Detert, if slightly less powerful. But for $35, this was a crazy bargain. Will last at least another 10 years.

August 3, 2011 - this is great now........you can wait for better but why? drink now and be rewarded with a great wine
June 28, 2011 - Deep purple color with that earthy Napa cab nose. Tannins have subsided with almost no bitter finish. Easy smooth drinking but seem to lack the deep complexity that you find in other Rutherford cabs. Ready to drink now with potential for slight improvement.
May 7, 2010 - very full, big, and tannic wine. Decanting required for 30 minutes. Opens up with beautiful nose and body. Mouthfeel is dry and tannic. Finish is very long. This is a very nice wine and vintage.
November 19, 2009 - opened and sat for 3 hours and was fabulous.
November 15, 2009 - very drinkable and a big red will continue to get better.
