Community Tasting Notes 9

  • Julian Marshall Likes this wine:

January 14, 2013 - This has improved immeasurably over the years, losing the syrupy taste it had young, as the acidity has taken over. It's one of the best examples of a Champalou "dry" wine I've tried (they're never really dry), full of zesty grapefruit, quince and honey, but with a fresh lemon finale with great persistence. Excellent wine, excellent QPR.

June 18, 2009 - We tend to drink a lot of inexpensive wines that are nonetheless enjoyable, but sometimes one separates itself from the pack. This is one such. Despite the relative age, immensely fresh on the palate, pale golden green, lots of peach/melon, good acidity, even slightly lush. Wish there was more.

September 6, 2008 - Delicious and rich fruity wine, a little on the sweet side. Perfect for aperitif.

    January 26, 2007 - Excellent
A surprise with a muted nose but dramatic palate. Vibrant start with a explosion of pear and apples, long finish. A little sweet but an acid balance which controls this. Serve well chilled 8-9 degrees. A good well made wine with a startling palate. very enjoyable.
