March 10, 2024 - Great wine, showing really well at the 24 year mark. The finish improved with an hour in the bottle while the nose and palate were great right away. Berries as well as spicy and balsamic notes. Very good. Drink.

September 24, 2021 - This was a fantastic wine. Nose was amazing. Everything you want in an old sangiovese. Rich fruit nose, mushroom, leather, dirt. The only negative was that it was a touch hot. Taste was rich with dark fruit, earth, mushroom, light bitter notes, good acidity and some good tannic structure. This was great!! Might be the best sangiovese I've ever had.

July 22, 2015 - The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. It smells like dust, forest floor, mineral, smokey bacon, cedar, vanilla, black pepper, cinnamon, meaty, tobacco, thyme, oregano, mint, chocolate, tar and prune. The body is medium. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

January 14, 2013 - Book Club - Italian Night (Bar Sugo): Nose was a little funky. Blew off quickly. Dried cherries, pencil shavings, hint of vanilla. Medium body and tannins. Very drinkable. Excellent chianti. (4+12+17+7)
