December 30, 2022 - The vegetarian at the table wouldn't even drink this as she said it tasted like blood. She's correct in the very best way as this shows plenty of feral animale scents and flavors, black olives, peppercorn, saucisson, with very little fruit able to penetrate all the savory power. Feels like the early part of a good window here.

July 8, 2021 - drinking pretty well with peppery, gamey, notes, light amounts of blue/black fruit. For me the biggest component of this bottle was the acidity that really jumped out and in my opinion this made the wine better with food than alone. Enjoyed with some lamb kebab, a match made in heaven.

June 5, 2021 - Black olives, blackberry jam, and black pepper aromas very dominant. Maybe some leather too. Very supple palate, with a ton of juicy fruit. Tastes rather herbal, almost cherry menthol like on the finish. Drinking beautifully now. Exceptionally well balanced.

May 10, 2021 - Oh, so good! Aromatic nose that jumps from the glass. On the palate, olives, lavender, and smoky berries, and good acidity. Fine texture with good length and a long finish. Classic Cote-Rotie.

February 3, 2021 - Drunk with dinner. Bright ruby. Spicey, peppery nose with dark fruits behind. Sweet, sour cherry and wild plum with more pepper and spice (in a good way). So smooth and balanced at the moment. Enough acidity to keep it fresh with the tannins having melted away. No harsh or rough edges at all. Very easy to drink. Reminded me of a really good, aged Barolo, rather than Rhone. I agree with other recent reviews - this seems to be really rather good at the moment.

November 15, 2020 - Our cellaring of this wine was near perfect so it’s evolution has been very slow and steady. It is now mature, and in its later stages of life - wonderfully expressive, mature, black forest fruits, restrained smoky bacon. All very proper for a classy AC like CT. Enjoyed with mushrooms Risotto. Delish. Will drink our remaining 4 bottles over next 18-24 months.

December 23, 2019 - Took about 30 minutes to open up. The color was beautiful transparent garnet purple. Zero sediment in the bottle. A bit reductive to start, but opened up to ripe dark berries. A bit tight when first opened, but with some air the body fleshed out and gained weight along with nice acidity and minerality. Really nice bottle.

September 6, 2019 - This just keeps getting better. My last note was equally positive but I recommended drinking now. I would still say the same as it is very good, but this bottle was better than the last. Good depth, light pepper, the cherry fruit has deepened and the earthy notes are more integrated. Good wine and seems to still improve. I can’t imagine how good the single vineyard ones will be. And this was considered a weaker year. Doesn’t drink that way.
