April 27, 2024 - Method: universal wine glass at wine tasting dinner; lightly chilled

    Nose: coconut, banana, ripe pear

Palate: ripe pear, apple; finish of lightly bitter herbs and mineral; dry; full body; medium acidity; low- tannin

Overall thoughts: Big, powerful, rich, but sufficiently balanced. I think this will age nicely in the medium term, so I'll probably open my next bottle in about 3 years to see how it's doing. Great wine.

April 18, 2024 - Open that botte - Jason chooses 2009 Trotanoy (Dan's new condo): Decanted and served immediately, drank about 1/3rd of the bottle over 2 hours. This started out as a flamboyant oaky buttery chardonnay. But with just minimal decant/glass time, it relaxed into a more balanced chardonnay with nice minerality and acidity. In fact, towards the end there was not much chardonnay characteristic to it. I really like this blend. I hope this adds complexity with more years of age, then it will really be a head-turner.
Update - A glass the next time was more caramelly and also spicier, although not lacking or falling apart, which is pretty good for a next day extremely well-oxygenated chardonnay blend.

April 14, 2024 - Fantastic blend. Complex, rich, unctuous. You think and linger after each sip for a good 10 seconds. Very fun.

December 28, 2023 - A bit more buttery than what I would’ve liked but good overall. 2019 was better imo

November 23, 2023 - Splash double decant which was helpful as this is a big wine. Super unique and absolutely delicious. Better with air but no rush to drink

August 18, 2023 - This was really, really enjoyable over three nights. Full-scaled but balanced, golden, and fresh. Paired well with multiple meals along the way (roast chicken and green beans, spicy Italian sausage pasta). A style I’m beginning to really enjoy.

August 14, 2023 - Trying to make a Monday fun (Richmond district): Huge aromas of deep and intense dark yellow and white flowers, golden ripe pineapples with a bitter minerality and intense flowers. The aromas here are quite big yet so captivating.

Opulent on the palate of deep pineapples with its bitter skins, crown and all. Gentle and airy vanilla cream with some spiced pear skin. Almost viscous and creamy in texture, but doesn't move like it on the palate, kinda unorthodox.

With a good amount of cellar time, I think these can integrate and lighten up a bit, possibly showing great finesse. Maybe with ~12-15 years though. Also try to enjoy these on the cooler side of the room temp that is recommended for this white.
