June 6, 2010 - Vini Rossi-L'Ultimo Piano (Asti Trattoria): The first year of this wine, where 15% syrah was added to the nero d'avola, it placed in the middle of our pack of five tre bicchieri sicilian reds. The Santa Cecilia was very quaffable, with sweet, pleasant fruit and a good mouth-feel and finish. With some oakiness noted, it had molasses on the nose and was well-balanced with a nice red fruit earthiness (cranberry, plum, black cherry), some spice notes, good acidity, and a short finish.

January 26, 2009 - A stellar score for the last bottle of an extra-ordinary wine. Sad to see this one pass as I suspect Planeta will never replicate it.
