February 29, 2020 - Deep red core, garnet edge.
Subtle red fruit on the nose. Focused and simple in a nice way.
Well structured tannin, acid, and fruit come together nicely here. There is a touch of iron on the finish. Nice wine that is probably on a slow decline at this point.

November 15, 2019 - Dinner with the wine group (Blue Plate, SF): Aromatic, sous bois, red fruit, iron, spice, depth and complexity; palate is medium bodied, high acid, red fruit, maturity, lovely lift; finish is medium-plus length. Lovely fully mature red burgundy with a particularly interesting nose. 93

October 14, 2010 - Wine Berserkers Dinner (Lupa Trattoria, San Francisco, California): Loved this wine. Great earthy nose with tart bing cherry fruit on the palate. Super smooth and elegant while retaining a lot of complexity right through to the extended finish. One of my favorites of the night.

October 14, 2010 - WineBerserkers Burgundy OL (Lupa Trattoria, San Francisco, CA): Nose was tart cherry and a bit one-dimensional to me. But on the palate this was deep and complex, with lovely cherry and raspberry fruit, clove and nice acidity. Delicious.

June 5, 2009 - Aromatically this was my wine of the year. The strength of the aromatics of the wine were unlike any other one I have ever experienced this year. Upon opening, I could smell the wine from the other end of the room. Just hazelnuts and bright red fruits. The wine itself was pretty darn good as well. Ready to drink with an hour of air time upon opening - very nice structure with lots of fruit and nuts on the palate, a touch of sweetness, soft tannins, good acidity and a medium plus finish. This is drinking very well right now, but no hurry. It was almost unchanged on the 2nd night, so I think if you pop it now, you won't miss much more in the future. This is a beauty and if you have any bottles - enjoy! Wish I had more.
