January 13, 2013 - Wow - still a fair amount of tannin; wine has great legs and a deep almost purple color in the glass. Good bouquet but still a fair amount of alchohol on the nose. Wine starts out chewy and then grabs your tongue and leaves if "leathery" on the finish. Had it with medium seasoned steak and heavily garliced green beans and kale. This wine stood up to all that and then some. Really surprised it was as good as it was...

April 11, 2008 - Very good. Needs 90 - 120 minutes decant (at least this young.) Excellent aroma. Strong fruit. With the right food (try extra sharp white cheddar) it is incredible!!!

January 25, 2008 - Bottle was good but didn't seem quite ready. A nice balance of fruit, vanilla, and spice. Wasn't quite strong enough to mesh well with the peppered steak I had it with. I have a feeling that it would be better in a few years, as the alcohol seems a bit too bright still.
