December 17, 2020 - a very very nice drink, 92/93... full but not over the top structure with balance of acidity and lingering tannin, nice red fruit but also some darkish hints / spice coming in around the fruit... very nice and possibly even better (1-2 pts?) in 5-10 years... this one should improve in that time frame, not likely to fade in any way IMHO

December 5, 2020 - Dec Barolo Night @ Jake's!: Another bottle which I was looking forward to try tonight. However, most of us felt that this bottle was off as there was quite abit of heat and seems matured beyond its age. Dried red currants, raisins and truffles. I honestly didn't enjoy this bottle tonight. NR

September 7, 2020 - Balanced and well developed. Ready for drinking. Is best with a food that can stand it and reveal the consealed flavors packed in the wine. I had it with grilled lamb and it was amazing.

August 7, 2020 - No detailed notes, as away on vacation when I drank this. An outstanding bottle of Barolo that is drinking very well right now but has the balance and stuff to go long.

May 16, 2020 - AWE Piedmont tasting. Single blind. Drank in Grassl Cru. 2 pours 4 hours apart.
Appearance is clear, very pale intensity, garnet colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, pronounced intensity, with aromas of sweet Maraschino cherries, caramel, perfumed sandalwood, potpourri dried flowers, balsamic. Developed.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (14%), fine soft high tannins, medium+ body Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet red cherries, red licorice, sweet spices, balsamic, sandalwood, melted potpourri. Thankfully no oxidative caramel taste-wise. Deeper boysenberry and blueberry with more air 2nd pour. Very comfortable caressing mouth-feel. Long finish.
Very good quality. Unique nose that makes you do a double-take. Lovely texture and mouth-feel. Feels like it should be drunk up sooner rather than later.
From the monopole Cascina Francia cru in the commune of Serralunga d'Alba.
