Community Tasting Notes 8

February 13, 2024 - At Boston Wine & Poker, Needham, Mass.: Tasted blind. Dark, clear red. Slight mushroomy aroma, with a hint of dill. Tannin over sweet cherry. This was paired with the Oddero Mondoca from the same vintage -- this one still has a long way to go, but is much more approachable than the Oddero, and, to my taste, clearly preferable. Another highlight from a very strong lineup.

August 30, 2017 - 125ml by the glass in 67 PM. We asked the sommelier to recommend an Italian red to throw in the mix of a fun tasting evening. I do not drink Italian reds often and have limited experience I must admit. This one hit the right spot for me and my friend. It had a great and intense nose and palate and the wine has probably just about entered its early drinking window (and will be very long lived). No formal notes taken but this was clearly better then the 03 Hermitage Chapelle Jaboulet Ainee preceeding it and was a nice segway into Bordeaux after. Probably a producer to explore further, according to the sommelier very classic wines.

October 9, 2015 - Still way too young. The fruit and the flavors are currently hiding behind the tannins. Wait for another 5-10 years. I am sure more is to come in a few yours down the road. Potential for 93 puts.

November 28, 2014 - Excellent Barbaresco, still a baby though....
