January 3, 2023 - This was in a good place on New Year's Day. The tannins have receded and the fruit remains plush. A very well-balanced wine from a nice, ripe vintage. I would consider this fully secondary now. It has enough of everything to hold for a while, and it will possibly make a fine tertiary or truly aged stage. Drink or hold to your taste.

March 19, 2021 - Second of three. It’s been almost three years since that previous bottle. Broken cork stuck to the neck of the bottle and subsequently pulverized being necessary to decant and filter it. Really strange because the previous one, of same quality, came out in a single piece (pictured). Pale, tenuous violet colour. Elegant aromas of powdery withered roses and spicy flesh. Behind balsamic notes can be founded: tar and Chinese ink. On the palate it has a very soft texture, almost light, and yet the acidity remains unchanged, vivid and refreshing, lengthening the persistence of the wine in the throat which is ideal for lunch. The total absence of sediments is surprised me. A Barolo that continues ageing without showing any signs of modern made wine.

Elegantes aromas a polvorientas rosas marchitas y a carne fresca especiada.

October 22, 2020 - decanted 1.5 hours, insufficient; consumed over several more.

this normale is a younger person's wine. love the floral nose, backed up w/some boot leather & casbah spice, fruit is extra-intense, so are the grippy tannins. suspect may deliver w/more time, tho still a (not very cuddly) bear today.

gold potato soup w/smoked sausage, parm-buttermilk crema, chives

December 11, 2018 - This was a bit of a brute. Super ripe and a touch stewed on the pour. After about 30min of air the stewed character was gone and this was fantastic. Dark fruits, wood and spice. Still fiercely tannic. Great with food or on its own. This really wasn’t showing any signs of losing steam.

October 20, 2018 - Once again, after that interesting tasting of before yesterday I've needed to open some similar wine from my cellar immediately. To compare? Rather to get a deeper, sometimes better perspective even. Certainly this was the case. When you are expecting something modern, just a oaky and strong Barolo what you get is a suave, aromatic and medium-bodied wine coming from vineyards located in the lowest part of Marenca and Margheria. Simply delicious.
Opened two hours in advance. No decanter. No carafe.
On the nose predominate those aromas of baked apples, dried herbs, truffles, flesh and violets. Modern touch in a traditional dress. On the palate has a silky texture with a gentle acidity and good length.
Happy because there're a few bottles more laying down in my cellar.
