June 17, 2023 - Very fine again. Clean on the palate again, with excellent balance and notes of blackberry, blueberry and sounds.
January 14, 2023 - Outstanding, clean with no funk. Superb balance, with good tension. Notes of fruit forward strawberry and all spice. Medium finish. 92-93.
October 12, 2019 - Love this nose of black cherry that is laced with earthy funky notes. The palate has terrific richness and near Grand Cru concentration. So meaty, funky, herby in an attractive way. Precise finish. Classic.
October 12, 2019 - Another Saturday at Chevalier...Mostly Blind Burgundy (Chevalier Fine Wines - Chicago IL): Small glass, tasted blind. More red vs black cherry with lots of savory spice, some braised meat. I thought this Grand Cru based on its density and complexity. Very good length as well. I haven't had this wine in a decade and enjoyed it as much today as back then.
September 17, 2019 - Showing beautifully. Still some dark red fruit on the nose but complemented by baking spices and earthy notes. Medium weight palate, very dry, more fruit, earth, minerals. Great balance and persistence. Secondary emerging and wide open.
October 1, 2018 - My last bottle. Love this wine. Dark fruits. Some burg funk on the nose. Sous bois. Rich mid palate. Balanced finish. This wine keeps getting better. Wish I had more.
June 9, 2016 - A visit from Chris with David and Brian in attendance. (My house): A wonderfully complex nose on this wine. I detected floral elements, light red fruits, and a touch of barnyard. On the palate, this was a big wine with red meat, dark fruits, and the same floral notes. The finish is quite long and utterly enjoyable. A big and almost hedonistic wine that was a pleasure to drink.
July 28, 2015 - Framboise at first, then red cherry on nose; good mouth feel, soft; buckets of fruit and spices. Guessed it as an '03.
March 27, 2015 - In a great place. Black fruit with some red emerging. Great nose, full body, and a beguiling finish. 93-94pts.
November 28, 2014 - Dark fruits with a funky, earthy nose with some sous bois starting to peak through. Fairly good mid-palate. I think this wine has more time to develop, so no hurry on opening the next one.
