September 23, 2023 - Some bricking and brown on edges. Reticent smell of cherry. Decanted and waited an hour. Fine tannins. Nice balance. Cherry, vanilla and leather. Enjoyable, drink up its at its peak!

January 7, 2023 - Drank together with 2004 Vietti Lazzarito at Henry’s. Both wines showed according to their pedigree. This was the back up bottle but after finishing the Lazzarito we decided to try it as well. The Castiglione shows lighter ruby colour indicating some age. The nose was forward with earthy, floral notes with raspberry and just a touch of tar. Palate is balanced with cherry fruit and just a touch of very fine ripe tannins. In its prime. No reason to wait any more. (91)

September 18, 2022 - Something was very wrong with this one. Smelled a bit corked and was completely off, I think this was just too old, sadly.

March 19, 2022 - Nice floral nose, with notes of leather, earth, and some oak. Opens with dark cherries with some raspberries and violets, transitioning to anise and tar. Very strong flavor profile, but still feels a bit young and tightly wound. Tannins are not completely resolved but not overbearing. Probably needs another 5 years, but certainly approachable now.
