    January 31, 2021 - 14.7% abv. Recent auction purchase.
A little reductive stink at first, but otherwise a clean, ripe, voluptuous and soft new world Syrah. Really nice and easy to drink and went very well with pot roast and roasted vegetables (potatoes, brussels sprouts, onions). Definitely on the simple side, but a nice quaff for the price. In a good spot now and has the stuffing to last a while longer for sure. If scoring 89 - 90.

July 25, 2020 - I've typically been a fan of Arcadian Syrah, tonight's bottle was ok but very ripe and fleshy, so less balanced or texturally intriguing than expected. Good, but probably 86-87 points tonight. I have one more bottle and will try that in the next year or so.

October 5, 2019 - Blind N. Rhones: A solid Syrah that won't get confused for N. Rhone as it shows its Cali roots with sunny black fruit that is laced with nice notes of pepper. Good balancing freshness. In a nice zone right now.

February 9, 2017 - PnP, which turned out to not be an issue. The nose has a clear bacon fat and dark fruit presentation as does the palate, which is a little more delineated with a hint of oak. A well balanced palate with a thick mouthfeel and a long finish, this has some complexity to it that makes it well worth while.

January 30, 2016 - Deep, youthful color. Has lost the white pepper I noted two years ago but shows some bacon and herbs amidst the juicy, still-black fruit. Classy; for those who like aged wines, this one's digging in for the long haul. Conservatively, I'll up the drink-by date to 2020.
