April 17, 2020 - This is my last bottle. At 15 years of age is it lovely, nice flavors, nice intensity, and the wicked tannins that the wine still had 5 years ago are finally gone. I'm glad I kept this around long enough for it to turn into a nice bottle of wine. I'll grade it in accord with where it is now, with no influence from the bad behavior of its youth.

February 13, 2015 - Showing very well. Well balanced with fruit fading and secondary flavors developing. 1-2 years more at most.

March 21, 2014 - This is a very intense, fruit forward wine. There is no balance of fruit, oak and tannin -- its just fruit and very heavy at that. The color is dark red. There is minimal bouquet

June 9, 2013 - Silky and full of fruit. If you got it, drink it.

February 23, 2013 - Bought after tasting at winery. Best word to describe is, "meh." Not much on the nose. Pleasant mouthfeel, but not much on the finish.

February 12, 2013 - Earth and wood on the nose with some dark fruits. Dusty dry tannins, bitter blackberry and black rasberry fruit, a touch of anise, medium finish. The dryness sets this out of wack whether from the oak or no residue sugars. Taste like it was vintified too warm or that the fruit was a bit burnt from the harvest. Decent enough to drink but glad I only bought 2.

August 19, 2011 - The first thing to say about this wine-it is beautifully balanced. Basically, a chauteaunuf blend, you can taste each of the varietals and, at the same time, the wine is better than the sum of its components. Medium ruby/purple with a normal viscosity, the nose grows meatier as the wine breathes with dark berry fruit, the tar that characterizes Chauteaunuf and some black pepper. All of this comes together with a well-structured taste, smooth tannins and zingy acidity that lasts on the extended finish. Again, I'm jazzed about this well-made Paso Robles Rhones that show such finesse and balance. Drink.
