  November 6, 2023 - Surprisingly fresh and drinking well. Would not have guessed this was 20yo. Benefitted from decanting. Drink up!

  August 11, 2021 - Hmm. Well, I expected a ripe wine based on the vintage and that was exactly the case. The nose definitely smells like port - very ripe, red fruit. And more ripe flavor on the palate. The tannin is still there but definitely has softened, and this actually made for a nice "cocktail" wine as a standalone sipper. I'm glad I didn't sit on this longer, it's tasty, but blind, I probably wouldn't think Barolo.

  October 9, 2018 - Haven't opened this wine in a few years, but was disappointed. Still tasted young, but there was something about it that I did not care for, but I could not put my finger on what it was. Very dark in color, no oxidation, tannins still rough, with a very short finish. Hopefully, just a bottle variation. See what happens when I open another bottle.

  Tasted double blind.
  
  Garnet color in the glass, a little dusty looking. Nose of tea, green peppercorns and iron. Flavors of red berries, tart red cherries and strawberries. Tart acidity, drying tannin, medium to full bodied. Drink now with air to open up.
  
  My guess was this is a Nebbiolo based wine from the Piedmont region in Italy, likely a 2007 Borgogno Barolo.
