November 20, 2019 - Just really beautiful. Still noticeably Amarone but also soft, fragrant, delicate and supremely elegant. A great bottle of wine.

August 3, 2019 - Purchased in 2012. Stored perfectly since. Stunning bottle. Perfect cork. 45 min decant. Dare I say fruit forward. This wine tasted no older than 15 years old. This bottle had at least another 15 years of life left. Certainly in prime and has great balance and finish. This exceeded my expectations based on prior reviews. What a great wine to celebrate my 36th birthday with my parents and one of my sisters.

January 13, 2019 - Dark red/brown with clear edges. Earth, thyme, dried figs and a bit of old furniture. Very dry raisiny flavours and a soft herbal finish.

January 9, 2019 - Very complex, sweet entry. Dry but long finish with an odd but not distasteful celery note. Bill mentioned chocolate covered raisins.

November 26, 2018 - Here we go atruffling... (aka Piedmont... and Veneto); 11/16/2018-11/30/2018 (Alba, Guarene, Modena, Barolo, La Morra, Lake Garda .....): Funny to realize that we had the Superiore of this a few years ago. This was a funny pick up at a random pizzeria in Riva del Garda (Mediterreano). Half the wine list were table wines for 15-20 euros and the second half were old Bertani Amarones for what looked like 50% off US Retail. The cork as you might imagine didn't handle the waiter corkscrew all so well, but the wine itself was in great condition. Starting to move into the port-like approach with more raisins and lots of dried fruits. Still decently fresh. Quite tasty. I was impressed.
