June 28, 2015 - Decanted for 20 minutes (cork dried out but not soaked through) before serving with grilled flat-iron steak.
Red with substantial bricking, small meniscus and a little bit of sediment. Beautiful nose - ethanol/saline, rose petals, tobacco, dirt & dried cherry on nose. On palate, medium body, medium+ acidity & tart cherry, dried cherry flavor profile with a long finish - very similar to a Barolo without the tannins.
Drank well on night two as well. Thanks Patrick & David! 92+ If you like funky old world wines worth a try. Really surprised me. -
