March 8, 2023 - So I bought a cellar; 11/12/2022-12/31/2030: From a 375 - popped and poured. Decent bricking in the glass, but relatively transparent with an orange hue. Nose of mushroom, leather, cranberry, some stewed fruits, prune, raisin. Initial taste is almost like a port, without the sweetness. The cranberry carries through - this one is fully into tertiary territory, much more so than the 2000 we had a few months ago. Larger bottles are likely in better shape. Good, but showing its age.
Edit - with a little more air, nose of cigar box, and prunes. Decent acid, and well integrated tannins. -

October 29, 2022 - Good balance of mature black fruit, braised meat, structure, and earth. Tannins protrude a bit more on the finish than I'd consider ideal. I haven't had this wine since shortly after release, and no surprise, but I preferred it in 2003.

April 22, 2021 - Solid wine! Lovely nose of floral and kirsch. The palate was also amazing with mellowed tannins and lower acidity but lots of fruiits

November 26, 2020 - Lots of alcohol, subtle cherry fruit, took more than an hour to open. Do not see this getting better.

7/23/2003 (link) 93 points(Quintessa) Screaming Eagle Vertical Tasting Dinner - '92-'99: Nice nose of vanilla and berries; lovely cherry fruit and good tannins, but clearly lacks the intensity and concentration of the preceding Screaming Eagles. The best vintage yet of Quintessa though
