Community Tasting Notes 1

December 13, 2022 - Right bank 1950 is one of the miracles of the vintage as they were picked early with the fruit on perfect health. Rarely seen now as they have all been drunk! Light ruby, Burgundian looking colour but the nose is off the charts with plum notes and tangy, citrus zest. Black tea notes and just so tangy and refreshing still. Hardly to believe such a modest property has produced something so long lasting and enjoyable to drink. No tertiary notes at all, just lovely mellow ripe fruit with fresh uplifting acidity with no tannins left at all.

Plenty of life left in this wine, light to medium bodied only now but so much crunchy fruit- cranberry and Xmas spice. My first time with a 1950 vintage and it was a real delight!

Shared by Jeff at home after a 3 year absence away from our home town and enjoyed with home roast chicken, green beans and baby roast potatoes. Perfect Tuesday evening!
