April 19, 2013 - Some Bottles from a Week in France; 4/14/2013-4/21/2013 (Paris, Northern Burgundy, Alsace): After tasting at Deiss today, we just had to order this off a list. Full yellow. Creamy sweet nose of ripe peach. Full bodied but the flavors surprise; after a bit of honey that recapitulates the nose, it tightens down due ver strong acidity and is only off dry, not at the VT level you expect. Complex, and at this point, it is difficult to pick out the component varietals. Interesting and very good.

Held up very well the second day with rich, sweet fruit and no oxidation.

October 15, 2009 - Lunch at Asia Grand (Odean Towers, Singapore): Just gorgeous. Golden yellow in colour. Lovely Riesling dominated nose showed drops of petroleum, rich apricot-led fruit, plenty of honeyed and flowery tones along with flinty mineral notes. Superb balance on the palate, with great acidity holding up nice rich flavours. Again, I got apricot and flint, along with notes of apple and plenty of tropical notes like pinepapple and longan, all spiked with a touch of ripe lemon and orange peel. Lots of weight here, but all laced with a lovely freshness. Finish was longish too, with that same impeccable sense of balance carrying the wine into a flinty, minerally tail. This went beautifully with a whole host of dishes.

December 22, 2008 - (at The Modern - NYC) Absolutely sumptuous. Medium golden color. Explosive nose of liquid pear, honey and balancing minerality. Has real presence in the mouth and just does not want to leave the palate. Incredible wine, drunk at peak. Maybe my white wine of the year. (96)
