August 10, 2023 - APPEARANCE: Ruby colour with notes of brick red.
NOSE: Ripe raspberries, field strawberries, fresh sweet figs, dry forest floor, light dry earthiness, a touch of cedar wood. (90p)
TASTE: The arrival is both dry, sweet and fruity. On the mid palate fruity notes of raspberries and red cherries. Slightly drier finish. Medium long aftertaste.(88p)
OVERALL: It took several hours for the wine to fully open up, both aroma and taste wise.
    TOTAL SCORE 89 points.

October 16, 2016 - Colour: Medium garnet, towards brick red on the rim.
Nose: Initially autumn leaves & forest, wild strawberries. With air gradually unfolding more layers, becoming more fruity and less autumnal; cherries, wild strawberries, cooked raspberries, red plum jam, hints of fresh figs. Lovely perfume. (90p)
Taste: The arrival is fruity, fresh and Burgundian velvety, until noticeable but ripe tannins arrive in the mid taste. Quite structured for a Burgundy, true to what's to be expected from a good Mercurey. Medium bodied. The exit is fruity and tannic, in a good way, ending in a medium long, structured aftertaste. (86p)
    Serve lightly chilled (14-16 C).
Kept very well after opening and just as fresh on day II (after having spent the night in a full, smaller bottle in the fridge).
Overall: A good Pinot Noir, lacking the refinement of a great Burgundy but well made, nicely structured and a very good representative of its Appelation. Mature and drinking well but will probably continue to develop for another 3-5 years, although I would expect the tannins to last longer than the fruit. 88 points.

October 6, 2016 - A beautiful, but linear, Burgundy from Mercury. Nice fruit nose of blackberry, hints of pine needle camphor, raspberry. On taste a linear wine with the tannins almost resolved with a light fruit on the palate with a nice finish but linear. Very nice and refined wine. Not big and bold that others want from 05 but a refined, restrained, linear burgundy. Very special in its complexity and balance.

February 11, 2015 - A nice, but not special Burgundy. For the price, I paid 35, I would say good value. Not a standout, but a decent pour. It is drinking well now, I don't think it is worth holding longer.

The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like raspberry, black currant (cassis), strawberry jam and mineral. It tastes like black currant (cassis), raspberry, mineral, forest floor and stoniness. The body is light/medium. The wine has linear texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

September 13, 2012 - Garnet red, moderate legs, little rim. Nose of cherry, raspberry and some tobacco. Cherry and more red berries on the palate. Disappointing, this shows little finesse and is most likely over the top.
