March 28, 2024 - PnP. Very light color. Nose of lemon and unripe pear. Lean palate shows flint, lemon, smooth stones and notes of grapefruit. Quick zip on the finish leads into lemon pith.
March 17, 2024 - Delicious and serious California Chardonnay, reminding me of why I love Chardonnay wine. The first sip is just so welcoming, without being overbearing or fruity, there is an element of structure without being stiff or one dimensional, just a lovely, refined wine that demands a pause, contemplation and appreciation. Bravo!
January 20, 2024 - Consistent with previous bottles. Oak seemed to come through a little more than I remember, possibly from serving a little warmer than usual.
September 3, 2023 - Consistent with previous bottles. Paired great with some manchego cheese and pecan crackers. Tough to beat this at the price point.
July 29, 2023 - Pale golden color. Bright citrus and orchard fruit and white floral notes with just the right touch of oak to round out the mouthfeel. Medium+ acidity keeps things lively on the palate. Paired perfectly with a mix of buttered sweet corn, lime, chilis and crabmeat.
June 21, 2023 - Tasted at a retailer-sponsored tasting in NYC. Made from a blend of 3 vineyards with differing terroirs/soils. Fresh herbal and floral, ever so slight SO2. White peach more than citrus notes. Approachable and very well balanced. Excellent QPR!
June 8, 2023 - Some well managed / mild reduction. Citrus notes. Clean. Nothing in excess here. Quite racy. Balanced. No real complexity yet. Good length. Well made wine. Enjoyable. Good value.
Another bottle tasted two days later was equally good and seemed less reductive / more citrussy.
May 27, 2023 - Another great vintage of this wine. Really nice purity of fruit with golden apple and mixed citrus fruits. Good amount of ripeness but balanced by juicy acidity. Not a lot of detectable oak in terms of flavor but it shows up on the smooth, rounded mouthfeel and finish. Will be difficult to make these last through the summer.
