Grenache - 60%; Syrah - 40%
Served (aerated; 1-hr decant) with BBQ pulled pork sandwiches, Chips and Salad.
Dark purplish red on the pour; clear in the glass. Dark fruit; Blackberry and plum on the nose, carrying over to the palate along with some black pepper and some minerality. Medium to Full Bodied; robust and full flavored. Mild tannins, but enough to leave a fuzzy tooth feel, with moderate acidity. Medium tart finish with a slightly bitter aftertaste. Good everyday wine. -

June 18, 2023 - Blinded to me by my brother at a family gathering.
This was an anonymous tasting, unremarkable red with little in the way of varietal character that I could recognize. Tasted new world, with plenty of ripe, slightly confected fruit. Tasted very primary. I just couldn't place this at all, so I guessed 2021 Argentina Malbec, $12 price point. I see people are only paying $5 - $6 for this - that's about right.
