February 28, 2012 - Dark notes of ripe cherry and berry give way to a yeastiness on the nose. A streak of green tea, dark stone, and rose bush also make an appearance with some tar and asphalt coming through with a spin in the glass.

Initially ripe but dusty, this wine is loaded with dark stone and asphalt tones. Blackberry, not entirely ripe black plum, and vanilla also show on the palate. A somewhat unusual wine, with lots of earthiness and an almost green acidity, if you’re looking for something different, this could be a wine worth trying.

(Don Prospero Tannat) COLOR-dark; NOSE-big blackberries; tight; little chalk dust; an eggplant component on the back-end; TASTE-nice & tight; little dark chocolate coming through; very heavy on the tobacco leaf which I like; black currant meets blackberries meets mulberries meets blueberries; the darkness, complexity and tannins structure is VERY serious; this a dark monster of a wine; very well priced; I'm impressed; very smokey on the tail end; little green pepper; very intriguing; may turn off some people with it's tannin structure; not delicious, but I respect the backbone and structure of this wine; I like the darkness; a little plum component coming through; very serviceable, but many wouldn't like; GV-88
