February 24, 2019 - Bricking garnet color, with perfumed aromas of spicy cherry, blood orange, and cola. The palate shows red and blue berry flavors, orange blossom, tea, and spices, that are plush without sacrificing complexity. Still showing plenty of energy, this last bottle is the best of the four that I had. It has been fun to follow this wine over the last 11 years.

August 7, 2015 - Bricking garnet color, with aromas of juicy red fruit, earth, and cola. On the palate, flavors of cherry pie, blueberry, cranberry, wet earth, and christmas spices are delicious. Rich, with soft tannins, plush flavors, and plenty of crisp acidity lending to a medium-long finish.

January 29, 2015 - Drank over 3 evenings. We debated if it was mildly corked, but were able to plow thru it over a few nites, so gave it a default 85. Fruit was pretty rambunctious for something mildly corked (!). 2 more, so the next reading should be telling.

March 7, 2014 - Popped and poured, consumed over 3 hours. Nose: Medium expressiveness, dark red fruit - black cherry and cranberry, ice tea, earth, and hints of red licorice. Palate: Medium bodied, sweet dark red fruit, ice tea. cola and spice, great mouth-feel, good balance, everything is in harmony right now with this 7+ year old wine. Finish: Medium plus length dominated by delicious red fruit and spiced ice tea.

    September 22, 2013 - Yep
What others do as a heavy, sweeter, sadly gloppier treatment of these grapes , this lies on the lighter side. True it is a bit sweet, but this is California. Thinking this is in the Zone as it plays well with a variety of food yet still drinks well alone.
Full of spice and sour cherries this is a smooth somewhat complex quaff. Clear and free of any cloudiness - see my earlier notes.

Decanted for air about 2 hrs, and 4 hours later its almost gone.
Bottom line: Time has served this well. Integrated and while light, delightfully well balanced. Drink em if you got em. Time is now. Wonderful wine.
