Community Tasting Notes 6

January 22, 2012 - Had a little off odor on opening. Used Venturi based on review about decanting. Improved aroma-currants and whiff of grassiness. Taste is balanced. Tobacco, earthy and berries. Very nice with pasta.

March 21, 2011 - 2 hour decant and it is just showing up to the party. Earthy nose, hints of spice and crushed red fruit. Good long finish, strong tannins. this one needs more time and I expect it will only get better.

July 19, 2010 - Needs several hours of decanting before the wine opens up. A very nice Cal-Ital style wine with black pepper and berries on the nose and palate. Very enjoyable finish.

January 23, 2010 - This wine is medium bodied. A deep ruby and purple in color. It has aromas of berries and some spice to it. It paired well with chicken parmesan. It had soft tannins with some acid on the finish. My regret is that it is no longer available for sale and I only had this bottle.
