January 17, 2019 - Tasted next to 2015 Purple Angel. Complex, open nose - mix of red and dark fruit, smoke, green pepper, grilled herbs, spices. On the palate fresh, intense, with good depth. Mineral, very spicy, generous and long. 91-93
July 26, 2017 - Deep garnet. Intense black fruit with touch of vanilla and spices. No alcohol heat. A very mature Chile full-bodied fruits with a balance palate. Low in acidity which is expected. In short, very ready and a very good food wine.
May 29, 2017 - Similar to the 7/25/15 bottle except more integrated and complex.
February 9, 2017 - Color: deep garnet
Nose: earth, minerals, Tuneric
Taste: ripe plum, beef, anise
Easy to sip, most of the up front fruit has faded, a bit gamey with a nice finish, although a bit short. Drink up... this isn't getting any better.
September 9, 2016 - Tasted non-blind in a 7 person dinner tasting against: '09 Cheval des Andes, '03 & '11 Achaval-Ferrer Finca Mirador, '11 Fabre Montmayou Grand Vin, Vistalba, '08 Catena Zapata 'Catena Alta' Cabernet Sauvignon, '13 Chakana Estate Selection Malbec, Lujan de Cuyo and an '03 Clos Apalta. This Carmenere blend is purple and thick, from start to finish. Rich, ripe and tasty but not overly complex. There are better values out the for the $$.
November 14, 2015 - WOW! Deep dark medium body wine. Super nose followed by a smooth combination of blackberry and plumb fruit with a hint of cherry. Very nice finish. I wish I had purchased more of this outstanding wine.
July 25, 2015 - Deep red color. Aromas of black fruits, dark chocolate and mellowed new oak. Ripe, nicely structured, and well-integrated fruit in the mouth with excellent depth and length. Somewhat thick and persistent on the palate. At beginning of its peak drinking period and delicious with the great food at Effie's Greek Restaurant.
April 29, 2015 - Deep garnet.
Intense nose, typical of Chile, with chocolate, ground coffee, leather and a pronounced vegetal character.
Full bodied with sweet fruit and although tannins are mellow the wine does
not lack structure.
Does not seem to be declining any time soon...
March 3, 2015 - Delicius strong wine. Dark and bold with plenty of fruit. Great boucet and taste lingers on. This is at it's peak now. Structure is like velvet, but there is a twist at the end...
