March 27, 2024 - I was again really excited by this wine. Crisp acidity and full flavor like biting into a freshly harvested honey crisp apple. Not super long but more than enough. Great chard.

February 26, 2024 - So freaking good. We’re in house wine territory here. I need to stop burning through them! But these are just a joy.

January 2, 2024 - So these are burning a hole in my cellar, already drank 3/6, but this time was next to a 2019 Ferret Pouilly Fuisse Perrieres and the floral notes of this wine (in addition to stone fruit) was plain to see. The toast is so light and the oak so judicious (Marcus or Megan can tell us about the elevage here) but my point is the the wine was nuanced, elegantly restrained and a delight to drink now.

December 27, 2023 - A little flinty. Lemon curd, asian pear, a little eMandarin orange, jasmine, chalk, floral and subtle wood spice. Midweighted toothsome and intense yet light on its feet. Clean, laser sharp, and finely detailed. Stony and mineral driven with well balanced wood and enough fruit to bring it all together, but this is at the spoint not as much fruit as a lovely soil driven wine. Beautiful balance and sense of cohesion. Mouthwatering fresh. 93+

December 23, 2023 - Another delicious bottle. URI today with a stuffy nose so I’ll hold off on any formal notes but this bottle was clean and pleasant, moderately reduced, and well received. Excellent QPR.

December 10, 2023 - Shell, stone, white peach. Evolving and improving through the bottle, another hit

December 3, 2023 - This is such a fun cuvée and I’m so glad Marcus chooses to do it. This bottle was drunk mostly on day one but followed up to day 4. Remarkably, it held together, protected by some reduction, but in no way, oppressive or sulfuric. Here you have some seashell and salinity even on the nose, the pallet follows with clean vanilla, bean flavors and some lemon curd. It is tense, bright, and fairly generous on the palate. Among the better QPR in my cellar.

November 19, 2023 - Sparkling gold color. Wet slate nose with a hint of clementines. Palate a little sour apple but with a very long finish. Glad I have five more bottles. Needs to sit another year or two. Has the stuffing for a beautiful Chardonnay

October 31, 2023 - From a bottle opened last night. This has more of a reductive note on the nose than the '21 Tsai Vineyard Chardonnay I just tried. Crisp and focused on the palate, with good acidity. Not as showy as the Tsai, but also not in the same price range. This feels like it needs some additional time in the bottle.

October 28, 2023 - Had an oppressive amount of reduction, which muted a lot of the other aromatics. Air softened this effect a bit - but still a bit much. Not sure of how much of this is from bottle variation?

At the core, this is a solid chardonnay with juicy citrus fruits, decent minerality, and a crisp finish. Quite nice in context of price.
