November 18, 2018 - It has been a couple years since I wrote a note on this and still largely agree with my previous comments - at our acquisition price this is one of the best QPR wines I have ever had. This is my low end entry level go to port especially w/ cigars (TF 20 being my higher end go to port). What has really struck me with these last few bottles is how much it mellows out and improves in the first 1-2 weeks so if a larger group is going to consume the entire bottle at one sitting this will definitely improve with even a rather impromptu splash decant. Warm dark caramel color, muted but sweet raisin, plum and mocha on the nose, very reasonable length of aftertaste, initially reasonably well integrated with no off tones and THIS is what really improves with air. Primary flavor profile of caramel, mocha, raisins and burnt sugar. Highly recommend this as an entry level port.

This was a beautiful reddish rust color in the glass, totally clear. It smelled similar to brandy. It was light bodied. I couldn't identify any particular fruits or flavors other than slight rancio like Sherry but, being used to Rubies, i could taste the oak, so I guess it was lightly tannic? There was very little acidity and the sweetness didn't hit until the very end and lasted through the short finish. It was very smooth and pleasant to drink, I almost could have forgotten it was alcoholic.

Would I drink this again? Yes
Would I buy it again? Yes, especially as a change from Rubies.
    Rating: 89

this was my first Port whose sweetness didn't show until the end of the sip, i like that or when it hits mid-palette. it makes it interesting. i have to emphasize how smooth this was.

July 28, 2016 - Wow nice QPR. Delicious nutty dried cherry notes.

April 16, 2016 - 92-93 if this rating was based more on QPR - this is no doubt the best $15 wine of any kind I've ever had. Stands up rather well to my usual daily drinking port, the Taylor Fladgate 20 year NV tawny port - not quite as smooth, a little less complex and heavier on the caramelized sugar on the flavor profile with a shorter after taste but given the price difference those differences are negligibly small. Warm dark caramel color, muted but sweet raisin and plum on the nose, very reasonable length of aftertaste, well integrated with no off tones and primary flavor profile of caramel, mocha, raisins and burnt sugar. Highly recommend this as an entry level port.
