April 25, 2024 - Leans towards the sage herb character. And really grippy tannins to it.

April 21, 2024 - Colore rosso rubino scuro. Finale medio-lungo. Da riparlarne tra dieci anni.

March 17, 2024 - 2019 Barolo Check in (My place, Portland OR): The nose is perfumed and savory with rich, red cherries, dark red berries, fresh herbs, violets roses, savory notes, and some fresh leather. There is a lovely freshness to the fruit that shows off the youth, but still is enticing and somewhat seductive. The full bodied feel is elegant and refined with silky, high tannins and youthful, high tannins that lean into a beautiful, long finish. This is kicking off at a real high level and is one of the strongest, young Bricco Boschis that I've had from Cavallotto. While this will clearly improve with age, this is showing so well now that it would be hard to resist if I had multiples of these in close proximity.

March 6, 2024 - 👃 Beautiful forest strawberry and cherry fruit, some cola

👄 all the 👃 promises, sandal & beechwood and a good amount of tannins which sandy but superb quality and have a vanilla lift.

This is the first 2019 which I see clearly ahead of the 2016 sibling.

    Needs time. 2027-2040

February 2, 2024 - Dark cherry, incredibly stern. This came during the middle of our 2019 Barolo tasting and I’d say that was similar to the impression it left on me. A great wine and value, like all of the 2019s this will require considerable time before it shows its hand.

January 25, 2024 - Cavallotto Dinner (Acquerello, San Francisco): Ruby. Aromas of menthol and black cherry. Elegant medium weight. Savory mix of tobacco and licorice more than fruit. Very good inner mouth perfume. Late citrus, bitter chocolate, fine tannins, and quite mineral. Excellent, understated, classic wine for the intermediate term.

January 22, 2024 - Beautiful bouquet with forest impressions, earth. firm acidity and tannin and a good length. Still much too young. Wait until 2028 at least. 92 – 93+

January 17, 2024 - Flickinger Tasting at The Casino (Chicago, IL): Youthful, fresh nebbiolo with pleasant red fruits and a slight floral tone. Fine-grained but not overbearing tannins make this approachable, even now (though without decanting). Almost a little candied, but in a good way.
