October 29, 2014 - lots of VA on opening that subsided but never went away over 3 hours in the decanter. thin. menh. hopefully a bad bottle. winebid.

October 5, 2014 - Too old in the nose, this bottle didn't convince me.

December 20, 2013 - Decanted briefly. Initial strong barrel notes blew off quickly, mature, leathery, red currant, red cherry, sappy tobacco and herbs, rocky slate/gravel mineral. Drink now.

October 28, 2011 - Tight dark fruit, cherry, some chocolate on the nose. The palate is more expressive with savoury red fruit, tobacco and cola. Still tannic, good structure and long finish.

September 13, 2008 - The nose shows very bright raspberry and blackcurrant fruit. In the background there's a lot of cola and tea. The palate is beautifully balanced, shows berry fruit and more secondary characteristic particularly the fruity cola. Very full, very powerful, yet also smooth without any jagged edges at all and a long finish, this still has many, many years ahead of it. The tannin, acidity and alcohol are all so balanced that you don't notice any of them. Correct, elegant and very enjoyable.
