January 17, 2022 - More fruit remains than structure, very dark fruit, obvious oak influence. Good mouth feel, mid-length. I figured the second day this would fall off, but in fact it got a bit better and even showed more structure, surprisingly.

April 6, 2021 - Multi hour decant, rich on the nose with dark fruit, vanilla, chocolate and dirt. The palate is big but balanced, with well integrated tannins and loose acidity. Time in oak is pronounced but not over stated, with blackberry and very dark cherry along with mocha standing out. A large mouthfeel with a reasonably long finish. Overpriced for what it delivers but enjoyable, don't think more cellar time will add much to its complexity.

April 3, 2021 - Bought on release. Don’t get this, too stewed, prune juice, quite a boring experience.

March 19, 2017 - Color is fine. On the nose though, while there is some dark cherry, there is also some notes of stewed prune. And on the palate, there's definitely signs the wine was cooked somehow. Worrisome as I bought this retail on release and it's been in the cellar since. But I'm not going to rate.

January 10, 2016 - This actually took about 2 hours in a decanter to open up. Initially it was pretty simplistic with some blackberry & and vanilla on the nose. However, after a little time a great depth of scents & flavors started to emerge. I'd dare to call it interesting and enjoyable...but I'd never pay this kind of money for this wine again. It's just not complex enough for the $

November 11, 2013 - Color: Opaque core with a ruby rim
Smell: Tar, charcoal, smoke, cedar, dark chocolate, and blueberries
Taste: Black currant, mixe red & blackberries, chewing tobacco, and cedar
Overall: Outstanding! Full bodied, med+ fruit, med acidity, medium+ tannin, med+ alcohol with significant complexity. This is ready to go now if you like the "new world" style.

November 5, 2013 - Beautiful bouquet with dark fruits, cedar, tobacco and smoke. On the palate you love this wine from the first sip; a touch of sweetness followed by beautifully ripe dark forest fruits and chocolate. Beautiful acidity and tannin. A great wine already and a future of at least over a decade. 95+

Overall: Outstanding! Bold without being "heavy handed" Full bodied, med+ fruit, med acidity, medium+ tannin, with significant complexity. With a good 1-2 hour decant this is ready now. However, in time this may prove to be even more exciting.

February 25, 2011 - Deep violet. Nice aromatics. Spice, smoke, marzipan, dark fruit on the palate. Comes across as a polished Napa cab. Rounded tannins with a spike of acidity to back it up. Good to drink now - pleasant, no complaints, but not too memorable. Falls away a little on the finish. 50+9+8+18+8=93
