Community Tasting Notes 90

April 11, 2020 - Once again this wine belies the avg score of 90 on this site IMHO. While past what some suggest is its drinking window the wine was fresh, balanced, open and more in its peak window that past its prime. Well integrated tannins, still plenty of dark black fruit with balanced acidity and minerality. Has shed its oak and now reflects purity of the grape. It is a great representation of the vintage IMHO.

March 8, 2020 - Took some time to open up after decanting. Dark red colour in the glass. Nice nose of red fruit and some plum. Good structure and plum, leather, etc. Goes on and on

October 27, 2019 - Opened and decanted for 15 minutes or so at the Dining Room at the Inn at Biltmore. Powerful nose of bright red fruits. Initial heat that blew off completely by the time we received the entree. Beautiful palate with the lushness you expect with a fine Pomerol. Outstanding wine and very drinkable now with a decant of an hour or so. Still has a great future.

August 21, 2019 - Deep dark ruby, opaque, did not decant, nose is great with full display of cherry, cassis, kirsch, plum preserves, chocolate, leather, tobacco, licorice and some violets. Palate is smooth, medium body, acidity is balanced, plums, cherries, licorice, tobacco, mocha on the palate, finish is medium with fine, dusty, slightly bitter but pleasant tannins. Its at full maturity, drink now or hold for few more years.
