June 3, 2022 - I think this was the third and last bottle from the Chambers Street purchase. Cork came out in one piece using an ah-so. Color was a hazy ruby color, almost bordering on a brownish tint. Nose had a lot of tertiary notes like an old baseball leather glove and dried cranberries and cherries. Palate was a bit dull with a bit of red fruit and acidity. I've had Brunello Riservas from 1990 that were more alive. Not flawed but seemed a lot more advance. Perhaps it was the storage issue that I alluded to from earlier bottles.

May 30, 2022 - Roscioli PNP.
Dark cherry, anise and tobacco
There’s also some green bell pepper
Good, not great, especially given the premium price .
This wine may have experienced storage issues. -

May 4, 2022 - Opened 3 hours in advance. Mature in the expression, but still extremely fresh the age taking into consideration. Medium+ acidity and tannin, both well integrated. The tannin was very polished and fine in texture. It delivers cherries, ripe strawberries, some leather, violets and forrest floor. Lovely balance and really good length on the aftertaste. A beautiful wine.

May 4, 2021 - Definitely one of the top 10 wines I have ever had. Incredible purity of fruit, this was richly layered with strawberries, blackberries, liqueur, leather, and the most velvety tannins, like cashmere. This only took a few minutes in the decanter for some of the mustiness that lurked out of the bottle after opening (perfect cork), and what a treat it became. The new standard bearers for top Brunelleschi for me, I’ll be thinking about this wine for a long while.

March 19, 2021 - Great matured Brunello.
Primary: black fruits, violets, balsamic, secondary: sweet spices, tertiary: wet floor forest, meaty
I had a poor experience recently with a Cerretalto 2006 which feels really dense and warm, about new world style. This 1999 is the complete opposite style: really elegant, well balanced, complex.
This is at peak now. I am not sure it will improve much.
I would have expected a slightly fuller body and longer finish considering the price tag and reputation but overall this is really lovely and makes me feel better about this label (even if worried about style consistency across vintages).
