    Brødbakst og gult eple. Medium intensiv duft.
    God konsentrasjon. Kremete og delikat moden frukt. Rik og herlig munnfølelse. Lett, tørr utgang med middels (til god) lengde.

    Bra QPR. Sjeldent god vin i denne prisklassen. Litt kraftigere duft og noe bedre lengde ticker denne mine bokser.

    March 27, 2020 - First bottle from a case of twelve with 2012 base. At first just a little tight, with green apple to the fore. The second half of the bottle more expressive - lovely play between bitterness and sweet caramel. Really moreish. The final glass was the best, which makes me look forward to the bottles to come.

    March 6, 2020 - Charleston Food & Wine Festival IV (for us... XV for the rest I think); 3/5/2020-3/8/2020 (Charleston, SC (various locations)): Bit more racy than the blanc de blancs. Some more toast. 60% from 2015, 40% from vintages going back to 1990. Blend of the three major grapes (40 Chard/40 PN/20 PM). There's more sharp edges here, more spice. Feels like it would benefit a lot from a few more years of age.

    (NV Charles Heidsieck Brut Réserve) Disgorged 2008. This is just lovely, and surpasses my expectations which were low, as I did not rate the last bottle very highly at all. White orchard fruits on the nose, with citrus tones and a fine, subtle, nutty nuance. Lightly honeyed and more harmonious than I hoped. Bright, a good mousse, but supple, with a fleshy weight. Clean, with citrus pith, together with wisps of grey smoke and other slightly reductive suggestions. This is just delicious.

    (NV Charles Heidsieck Brut Réserve) Disgorged 2008, but no mis en cave information here. A pale straw hue, and a fine bead. The nose is certainly very developed and interesting, very vinous, with stretched out toffee and brazil nuts, with a hint of autumnal fruits, all warm and golden. The palate shows a similarly warm and rounded character, fleshy and rather plump, with a mouthfeel that tends to overface the acidity and mousse a little. I find this a little surprising, as I would think this wine would be based on the 2004 vintage from the disgorgement date, and thus thought it would be little firmer. Towards the end quite open, a touch loose-knit, but with some slightly bitter grip at the finish. This might come together with time.
